Joan,
May I quote your post on a cottage industry opportunity for canning or freezing Maine produce in my upcoming book on growing community in Maine? If so, can I have your last name?
Blessings, Merry

Joan, I am a new member of our local buying club in Portland and one of the vendors to the club is Crown of Maine. I was just able to buy organic frozen Maine strawberries which is, of course, eating out of season, but...

Anyway, the infrastructure might already be there at some level to do what you're talking about with Crown of Maine and like organizations. It certainly can develop more in the different regions of the state.
