Hi: The Maine Ag Trade Show happens at the Augusta Civic Center in early Mid-January. The exhibitor planning and show planning is probably happening right now (assuming that the State cuts haven't killed the show) and it is a big 3 day 2 night event that fills the Civic Center's main floor and North Wing. There are opportunities for consumers there, and I would hope that any and all buying clubs could be represented there if they so choose. Contact John Harker for more information at the Agriculture Department, and check the department web pages for any info and updates. Get Real Get Maine is another web site that the department has used for years to promote Maine farms and foods. It also can be accessed from the dept's pages, assuming it is still live.

Hi Joanna, Now that you have the group set up, create a google calendar. When you create an event on the calendar, invite your google group (groupname@google.com) and set an email reminder. (You can bypass sending an invite and just set the reminder.) Calendar events can be scheduled to recur as well. Alison

I found a supplier for cream. With advance notice (3 days) HP Hood in Portland is going to pull heavy cream off their line prior to it being treated and deliver it the day we process. They gave me a really good price too.

Exactly what I was thinking. Hopefully we can find some local ingredient suppliers. Maine is getting a name for itself as a broccoli producer too. I haven't found out yet if any of the growers freeze their product so it could be a year round source. Keep your eyes open and let me know if you see anything relevant.
