Isn't life just great when things work as they're supposed to? I finally got the racks for my Blodgett oven that I got for "free" (had to buy a load of parts for it) and tonight got to give it the first whirl with the biscuits. What normally would take me nearly 5 hours to do in the small kitchen size oven I had been using, took me just 45 minutes in this oven. What a difference! The whole house smells like biscuits tonight :) The oven also raised the temperature inside the house by 10 degrees...so it's a powerful one.
I do love efficiency, though. The prior oven was running 4kWh, running for about 35 minutes every hour. At 5 hous of baking, that's nearly 2 and a half hours of the heating elements run time. At 4kWh, that's 10 kWh I'd be paying for. With this oven, it runs 11kWh and the elements run for 13 minutes every hour. So for that 45 minute run time, it's about 8.25 kWh to pay for. Ahhh, I LOVE efficiency!!
