BE A GOOD APPLE is is a food and faith initiative that began in 2004 when I worked with Andy Burt of the Maine Council of Churches. The idea is based on dedicating a certain amount of your weekly grocery bill to support local growers and producers in Maine. So whether you buy food, flowers, fish, meat, eggs, or beer, pledge at least $10 a week to a locally crafted/produced product. This will strengthen the Maine economy and community exponentially. And it will make you feel good, too!
