- Where in Maine do you live and eat?
- Our customers consist primarily of eaters from the Midcost and Waldo County, although we are a hot spot for summer tourists looking for local and organic foods.
- What issues are you and/or your group interested or expert in?
- farmland protection, organics, health and nutrition, food justice, farm to school, school gardens, home gardens, community gardens, hunger and local foods access, farm to institution, farm to restaurant, CSAs, farmers' markets, local foods marketing and distribution, food coops, GM-free seeds and genetics

- Mainers can enjoy delicious offerings with local ingredients from our deli, as well as feast on a wide variety of locally grown and produced items in all of our departments.

- Our co-op's Values Statement states that we are a member owned market and cafe that seeks to foster community, support local producers and educate for healthier food production and consumption. We sponsor a semi-annual Eat Local Challenge in our community and play an active role in bringing local foods topics to many tables for discussion. We are proud to be a respected resource on this topic and to take an active role in building stronger communities around local foods.

A group for people who communicate about Maine foods - in words, pictures, and other media
I also thought I would share a project I am working on(http://www.buyingclubsoftware.com/). We hope to have it ready in early 2010, and will be working with the Portland Food Coop to test out our new software specifically made for buying clubs.
