So there are eight of us so far - what and where do we communicate? I write for the Maine Organic Farmer and Gardener, and did a Hampshire College thesis project writing about the farmers of the Saint John Valley in Aroostook County. This isn't a self-plug, necessarily, but the thesis is an interesting bit of documentary/journalism about a group of farmers generally inaccessible to the rest of the state. What projects are going on out there in our local foods world? I'm thinking of going to farmers markets (that is, one a summer probably) and assembling profiles of participating farmers to be bound and distributed at the market. You know, really know, your farmer...
