Eat Maine Foods!

I've only done a bit of seed-saving over the years but would like to do more. Also, our permaculture group would like to organize a little workshop on some recommended methods for seed saving so that we can all learn more about this important skill.

Can you recommend someone that might be willing/able to come to the Portland area later in the season to lead a workshop for us on seed saving? We would make sure their time/expenses are covered.

Thanks in advance for any direction you can give on this...

Hi Lisa-

I was just asked to cover the Organic Seed Alliance for the MOF&G paper and learned that members of their board (including some fantastic educators) are coming to Maine in July. They are presenting a workshop on seed breeding and saving at a Twilight Farm Meeting on July 31. Either your group could attend or perhaps one of the board members would be interested in doing a workshop with your group. The programs director is Micaela Colley and her number is 360-385-7192. They are in Washington State. Good luck.
