Event Description
Local Food RULES (LFR) is a new membership organization formed around the work done in passing the Local Food and Community Self-Governance Ordinance in five Maine towns last year. The work of the group will be to protect the rights asserted in the ordinance and support other communities working on local food issues. The first gathering of LFR will include a finger-food potluck; everyone should bring a favorite appetizer to share. Dan Brown will up-date the group on the lawsuit against him. Heather Retberg will introduce the mission and goals of the organization. There will be time for questions and discussion of steps toward the future. We will appreciate donations to help pay for the meeting space. Everyone interested in local foods to any degree is welcome.
